Josephmark has been named Boutique Agency of the Year at the 2023 Art Directors Club (ADC) Awards, also taking out two Gold Cubes for the Walking Dead Pathways (an interactive voice game with Google), a Bronze Cube for RCA Records (the second oldest record label in the world), and a Merit for Billycart (local Australian startup poised to conquer the US).

With another 5 projects nominated for awards, it signals the beginning of a new era for the Brisbane-based studio, whose focus on growth into the US has truly begun to reap its rewards.

The ADC Annual Awards, part of The One Club for Creativity, is the oldest continuously running industry award show in the world.

Heading into its 102nd year, these awards celebrate the very best in creative, from advertising and digital media to graphic design, motion and gaming, all with a focus on artistry and craftsmanship.

Josephmark’s wins are the latest in a long list of accolades for their work, which has made its mark on some of the world’s most progressive brands, products and ventures.

Earlier this year, they won a coveted Webby Award and Awwwards Site of the Day for music mainstay RCA Records, and took out three distinctions and three merits at the Australian Graphic Design Awards (AGDA) for their exceptional work on The Walking Dead Pathways, The People’s Grid, Pyn, Billycart and Backpocket.

Josephmark Executive Creative Director Alex Naghavi said, “It’s a really exciting time for our business. It’s always an honor to be recognized by the creative community, but to be recognized by a global organisation like The One Club for Creativity feels extra special because frankly, the quality of the competition is outlandishly high.”

“For a relatively small team across Brisbane and Los Angeles, taking out this prestigious award is pretty incredible. It’s truly a reflection of the calibre of our team and progressive culture.”

As a design and technology-led studio, Josephmark pushes the boundaries of brand, product, and business-building, working with entrepreneurs and enterprises to define and redefine their products, brands, and businesses.

“With the freedom to push the boundaries of what’s possible in creativity, in business, and in life, our teams thrive. It might sound like an unlikely story, but this humble studio born in Brisbane, Australia is dead serious about making a global impact.”

Josephmark is a proudly inclusive organization and an ally of marginalized communities. We firmly believe in promoting social justice and equality for all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Our commitment extends to supporting movements that strive to eliminate systemic discrimination, promote inclusivity, and create a more equitable society.

The studio is based on the lands of the Jagera and Turrbal peoples (Brisbane/Meanjin), the Kabi Kabi, Gubbi Gubbi, Waka Waka, and Jinibara peoples (Sunshine Coast), and the Tongva peoples (LA).
